The Larchmont Fire Department was reorganized on May 16, 2007. The Village Board appointed a paid fire chief, and restructured the role of the Fire Council. The majority of the volunteer firefighters resigned from the department, many joining other nearby volunteer fire departments. This website describes the department as it was on May 16, 2007.

In late 2006, the LFD Fire Council conducted a study about consolidation of Larchmont's fire services with the Town of Mamaroneck Fire District. Download a copy of the study here:
